do you define communication?
Communication may be defined as interchange of thought
or information between two or more
persons to bring about mutual understanding and
desired action.
2. What
is the role of communication in management of business?
The role of Business communication is formality as
against personal and social communication, because the success of any business
to a large extent depends on efficient and effective communication.
3. What
are the different purposes of communication? Briefly explain any five of them.
1. For
integration: The integration function of communication involves to bring about inter-relationship
among the various functions of the business organization, this for help in the unification
of different management functions.
2. For direction: It is important Communication for to
issue directions by the top management or manager to the lower level. Directing
others may be communicated either orally or in writing. An order may be common
order, request order or implied order.
3. For influencing: Correct communication allows you
to influence others. The person who has the potential to influence others can
easily persuade others.
4. For employees orientation: Communication helps to
make people acquainted with the co-employees, superior and with the policies,
objectives, rules, and regulations of the organization.
5. For evaluation:
Communication is a tool to appraise the individual or team, their
contribution to the organization.
4. Discuss
the different situations when the communication exists.
The communication situation exists if there is a
person (sender) who wants to pass some information and there is another person
(receiver) to whom the information is to be passed on.
5. “Communication
is an exchange of facts, ideas, opinions and emotions by two or more persons.”
Explain the statement and discuss the role of feedback in communication.
The main function of communication is the exchange of
ideas between people and their feedback to share their different points of
view.
6. “Communication
is the two way process.” Explain.
Because it sends a message through a channel to the
receiver, who receives it and sends the feedback.
7. Discuss
the elements of communication process.
The process of communication involves 8 elements:
1. Sender or transmitter is the person who convey the
message.
2. Message: It is a subject matter of any
communication.
3. Encoding: The communicator of the information organizes
his idea into series of symbols like words, signs, etc.
4. Communication channel: is the media through which
the message passes.
5. Receiver: The person who receives the message
6. Decoding: is the process of interpretation of an
encoded message into the understandable meaning.
7. Feedback: is the reaction or response of the
receiver
8. Brain drain: is breakdown of cycle at any level, it
is known as misunderstanding
8. Give
three examples of brain drain in communication process.
1. If we
transmit a message in writing and it has grammatical errors
2. When
we do not have a broad vocabulary and we do not know the correct meaning of a
word
3. Not
paying attention when receiving the message
Cool, I have the same answers except by the last three examples. I find interesting that you included grammartical errors as a barrier because it is true, even if you know what the writter means you still focusing the mistake so once you see it you can not unsee it.
